New Horizon Christian School
History
Early in 2000, a few dedicated men and women met to dream big dreams. They organized in May 2000 as the founding board of the New Horizon Christian School.
The school was organized legally between Easter and August of 2000. With the generous donation of time, money, and materials from individuals and churches in Maranatha Presbytery, and the loan of property at Jesus of Nazareth Church the board was able to build and equip three classrooms, as well as remodeling another.
The school opened in August of 2000 with 5 preschoolers and 2 primary students, but by the end of the school year the enrollment had climbed to 23.

MISSION & VISION
Our Mission: To provide an integrated and quality education, using the best methods and materials, with the purpose of preparing the students to be servant leader to their homes, churches and in the community, understanding and applying a Christian perspective of the world, living as children of God and as stewards of His creation.
Our Vision: To guide the students in their education, based on a Christian worldview (life perspective), in order to develop knowledgeable and competent disciples of Christ.
Why A Christian School?
New Horizon Christian School was founded to respond to the need for a place where the children of Maranatha Presbytery could learn and grow in their Christian faith.
Generally speaking, education in the public schools is at a very low level, while the better private schools are run by Catholicss and non-Christian groups.
In both public and private schools, the students are pressured to participate in practices contrary to their faith (such as bringing offerings to the dead), as well as being taught a worldview that is very contrary to a Christian view of the world and life.
Our Calling
We believe that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom
(Proverbs 1:7).
God shows us that children should be in an atmosphere that reinforces obedience to His word and love for Him at all times (Deut. 6:4-9). Our aim is to help provide such an environment for the school experience of children here.
Because all truth is God's truth, we want our children to study under teachers who know and believe God's Word and who reflect Jesus in the way they teach every subject.
Our Commitment:
- To nurture and train covenant children in co-operation with parents and the church.
- To evangelize and reach non-Christian families in the community through their children who are students at the school.
Our Goal: Transformation
- Through quality education
- Through Christian education
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind"
(Romans 12:2)
